A former café in Perth’s Northbridge has been reopened as City Arts Space, a multi-purpose space for artists to create, develop, and exhibit their work.
Located at the Northbridge Piazza, the venue is designed as an affordable and flexible location for creatives to come and showcase their talent.
Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffaldi said that the government was responding to a need for exhibition space. “We have reimagined the space, making it an ideal venue for art related events, exhibitions or workshops,” said Scaffaldi. “This unique exhibition space is a fantastic blank canvas for our arts community.”
The venue forms part of the City of Perth’s on-going commitment to help develop areas of the city’s arts, culture, and heritage.
City Arts Space‘s first exhibition Sacred and Scarred, an exploration of cultural sites and identity, is already underway, and will run until August 27th.
