Following years of anticipation, and huge ticket sales, The Book of Mormon’s Melbourne season has been extended through to 30th April 2017 at the Princess Theatre, with new seats on sale now.
The acclaimed musical – which has won Grammys, Oliviers and Tonys since its debut in 2011 – has already broken the house record for the theatre’s 159 year history. And it’s little surprise with a musical from the creators of South Park, which has so far played for over 253 consecutive weeks at 100% capacity on Broadway, sold out all of its 1225 performances on the West End and had 170 weeks touring the USA at 100% capacity.
The Australian production will be led on stage by Ryan Bondy as Elder Price and A.J. Holmes as Elder Cunningham, direct from playing the roles on Broadway, in the West End and across America. Our leads are joined by Zahra Newman as Nabalungi (Miss Julie, The Mountaintop), Bert LaBonté as Mafala (Richard III, Pippin) and Rowan Witt as Elder McKinley (Into the Woods, South Pacific).
Other cast includes Daniel Assetta, Blake Bowden (Elder Price Standby), Andrew Broadbent (Price’s Dad/ Joseph Smith/ Mission President), Camille Eanga–Selenge, Donell James Foreman, Eddie Grey, Phyre Hawkins, Antwaun Holley, Matt Holly, Todd Jacobsson, Jay James-Moody (Elder Cunningham Standby), Justin Lonesome, Mitchel Mahony, Loredo Malcolm, Joshua Mulheran, Morgan Palmer, Elenoa Rokobaro, Joshua Russell, Ryan Sheppard, CoCo Smith, Timothy Springs, Cessalee Stovall, Augustin Aziz Tchantcho (General), Teddy Trice, Brinie Wallace and Jamaal Wilson.
Book, Music and Lyrics are by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Co-directed by Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw, The Book of Mormon has choreography by Casey Nicholaw, set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Brian Ronan, orchestrations by Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus and music supervision and vocal arrangements also by Stephen Oremus.
