The Art Series Hotel Group’s The Schaller Studio has partnered with the award-winning restaurant Masons’ of Bendigo to create the authentic From Market to Paddock to Plate food and wine experience in central Victoria. Mason’s international chef Sonia Anthony takes guests in groups of up to eight people on a personalised tour of the community’s Farmers Market and some local farms to source the ingredients for the evening’s dinner, which she cooks before the guests in her own home.
The tour is designed to show the guests where the local food and wine is produced, gathered and sold, and give them to opportunity to sample and buy their own goods along the way. Guests are also offered the opportunity to learn about the region’s food and wine directly from the local farmers and get some expert tips on matching food with the best wines from Masons’ Sommelier Paul Hobson who is present at the evening dinner.
The experience is completed by an afternoon at the Schaller Studio accommodation where guests can relax in large communal spaces with an artistic twist. The hotel is decorated with original Mark Schaller artworks and provides sketchpads and utensils for guests to unleash their inner artist. Guests can also borrow Lekker bikes for a leisurely ride around Lake Weeroona before dinner.
For a total of $325, the full From Market to Paddock to Plate package includes:
