As reported by Australian Business Traveller earlier this week, Cathay Pacific‘s next generation Airbus A350-900 fleet will be taking to the skies this June, and with it will come some new in-flight internet options – with the Hong Kong based carrier enabling internet for an entire flight for US$20 or US$10 for an hour.
The service will apply on the entire order of their aircraft, with already announced routes including Auckland and Gatwick. Australian legs are anticipated for 2017, with twelve of the aircraft due this year and ten next year permitting additional routes. The airline has also ordered 26 of the longer range, larger A350-1000s, but they won’t start delivery until 2018.
The A350’s are the first aircraft from Cathay to offer in flight internet connectivity and will also feature their updated business class seats. Combined with their premium economy and economy seats, the A350-900s will cater for 280 passengers.
