The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) have unveiled the nominations for the 39 categories that will comprise the 3rd annual AACTA Awards, and The Great Gatsby tops the list with 14 nominations.
The big-budget film faces competition from Kim Mordaunt’s The Rocket, a-low budget film, shot in Laos with unknown actors. Both are nominated for Best Film alongside Dead Europe, Mystery Road, Satellite Boy and The Turning.
On the small screen, meanwhile, Jane Campion’s Top Of The Lake leads nominations with ten and faces stiff competition from Mrs Biggs, Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story and Redfern Now, all of which came in with eight nominations a piece.
The ceremony will take place on 30th January 2014 in Sydney, where the AACTA Awards will remain until 2017. The night will be hosted by Rob Carlton. The full list of nominees are below!
