In a surprise announcement this morning, it was revealed that global superstar Benedict Cumberbatch will be making an appearance at Oz Comic-Con in Adelaide, as well as two exclusive Q&A sessions during Oz Comic-Con in Sydney. This is a serious coup for these events given the fact that Cumberbatch is one of the most popular stars on the planet. The British actor will be answering questions during a moderated panel at Adelaide Comic-Con, which is happening on April 5 and 6, as well as taking part in autograph and photo opportunities for token holders. The Sydney Q&A’s will take place at the Science Theatre at UNSW on April 12 and 13.
Cumberbatch rocketed to stardom in 2010 when he was cast as the titular detective in the BBC’s Sherlock series. He has since added to his impressive resume by appearing in blockbusters such as Star Trek Into Darkness and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, as well as more dramatic fare such as August: Osage County and Best Picture winner 12 Years a Slave. Cumberbatch has proven himself to be a phenomenally talented actor as well as an awesome human being, and he is clearly very appreciative of the support of his many adoring fans around the globe.
Tickets for Adelaide Comic-Con are available now and tickets for the Sydney Q&A’s go on sale this Monday March 10. You can buy them online here: http://www.ozcomiccon.com/
