The winners of Film Awards for the recently-completed SXSW festival have been announced, and it is a long and varied list, which you can see below. The festival is an awesome way to give recognition to these mostly unknown films, and 2014 presented an amazing selection of films.
The Grand Jury award went to comedy For Tilden, which stars Bridey Elliott and Clare McNulty as 25-year-old roommates who experience a needlessly difficult journey to the beach. Receiving great acclaim during the festival, Richard Linklater’s Boyhood (starring Ethan Hawke) took home the Louis Black ‘Lone Star’ Award. Also worthy of mention is the fact that recent TV phenomenon True Detective took home the much-deserved award for Excellence in Title Design for its perfectly grim opening credits sequence.
Head to the official SXSW website for more info on the festival.
