Liam Neeson and his particular set of skills return in the trailer for Tak3n

Taken3

Liam Neeson is returning to the role that made him an action star with the third Taken film, now awkwardly titled Tak3n, hitting cinemas early next year. Since the brilliant original film was a surprise hit in 2008, Neeson has experienced a career resurgence that has seen him frequently kicking the asses of men half his age. But despite his mature-age status, Neeson is currently one of the most popular action stars in the world. 2012’s Taken 2 was not as strong a film as the first, but audience still turned up in droves to see Neeson do his thing.

Neeson is joined by returning stars Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace, while Oscar winner Forrest Whittaker is joining the series to add some more gravitas to the proceedings. 20th Century Fox has just released the first trailer for the film and it’s actually pretty good. The action looks great, but this might be a case of a trailer giving away way too much of the film. Regardless, we can expect Tak3n to another box office hit when it’s released.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered.  Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.
