Watch The Feed’s Anchorman-style death match between Australia’s top broadcasters

sbs 2 the feed anchorman

SBS 2’s The Feed has aired the full version of “Broadcast Battleground” as part of their final episode of 2014. Capping off a year of news done a bit differently, the increasingly impressive program has managed to convince the country’s top news broadcasters from rival channels to, well, kill each other. In a totally real battle of the death, we see well known media figures such as Sandra Sully, Hugh Rimington, and Derryn Hinch from Channel 7 spray death threats at their rivals while each channel battles in threes or fours, except for underdog Lee Lin Chin, who enters the battle all on her own.

Lee Lin Chin wants free clothes and beer, and as with everyone who wants free clothes and beer, she stumbles upon a trap set by ABC news which leads to a series of threats and downright nasty trash talk before all hell breaks loose, where things like Annabel Crabb eating people actually happen. I won’t spoil the ending for you, but let’s just say that this could double as an advertisement for beer.

Look our for guest appearances by The Chasers, David Marr, Marc Fennell, and more.

Best quotes:

“I’m about the retract Lee Lin’s teeth from her face”

“Clear off channel 10, this is a government-funded blood bath”

“Let’s close live now to you losers in a world of pain”

“Seven, first in news, and first in beating down you punk ass bitches”

“I’m gonna hit you public broadcasters harder than Tony Abbot’s budget cuts”

“News for young people on a channel young people don’t watch”

“Lee Lin motherflippin’ Chin”
