A gritty, daring and well crafted Aussie flick.

Gangs of New York, One, 9:30 pm AEST
Directed by Martin Scorsese, this historical drama follows the story of Amsterdam Vallon (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he returns to New York City seeking revenge on his father’s killer, Bill the Butcher (Daniel Day-Lewis). It may not be Scorsese’s best work but the chemistry between these two leading actors is simply fantastic.

Focusing on one of the most influential rock bands of all time, this 2006 documentary details all the highs and lows of the Pixies’ 2004 reunion tour. From “Where Is My Mind” to “Gigantic”, this documentary is worth watching just to see the quartet belt out these hits.
