Mark the 28th July 2017 in those calenders because that’s when we finally see classic superhero Spider-Man film franchise is re-booted (yet again). There’s a difference here though; due to a new partnership between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios, good ol’ Spidey will be seeing his new film released as part of the Marvel cinematic universe.
Most surprising of all is that Andrew Garfield will not be returning to reprise the role of the superhero; he had been slated for two more appearances, but all the same, the studio are expected to re-cast for the role. The film will be produced by Marvel’s Kevin Fiege alongside Amy Pascal.
This has caused a bit of a change in the release schedule for other Marvel movies. Disney has shifted Thor: Ragnorak to 3rd November 2017 (original date: 28th July) and Black Panther will now be released on 6th July 2017 (original date: 3rd November). Inhumans has been pushed back to a 2019 release date and the next Captain America is now scheduled for a November release in 2018.
