Saturday Night Live prepare for monumental 40th Anniversary episode

snl 40

Iconic late-night television program Saturday Night Live has been around for an impressive 40 years, and so a huge celebration is in order. Over the years, SNL has given the world some of the most memorable and discussed TV moments in history, sticking to the tried-and-true formula of one big celebrity guest thrown into a series of live sketches with resident and guest comedians, in addition to anticipated live music from some of the world’s heaviest hitters. This will be ‘event television’ at it’s finest.

The Saturday Night Live Night Live 40th anniversary event kicks off with a red carpet special hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Carson Daly and Al Roker. The Today crew will interview current and former cast members along with previous SNL hosts.

For a special 3.5 hour episode which falls on their 40th year, SNL will be drawing upon their long and well-known history to put together a guest list that is appropriately epic, including some surprise, unexpected returns.
