Three Kings – Go! – 10:00pm AEST

David O. Russell’s Three Kings is a comedic adventure that takes places as four American soldiers set out to steal gold in the aftermath of the Persian Gulf War. George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Spike Jonze and Ice Cube star in this fresh, unique film worth watching both for the laughs, as well as the underlying social satire and political critique.

The Tree of Life – SBS 2 – 10:10pm AEST

This stunning film, tells the story of a Texan family in the 1950s from the perspective of the eldest son, as the innocence of childhood ends and the disillusionment of adulthood begins. Director Terence Malick creates an impressionist film that unconventionally, but beautifully explore the layers of family dynamic. Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain are all fantastic in their roles.

Tuesday 31st March 2015

21 Jump Street – Ch. 9 – 9:00pm AEST

A hilarious comedy starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, 21 Jump Street sees the two play police officers sent back to high school to bring down a drug ring. Hill and Tatum make for a perfectly ill-suited duo, and the film exploits their differences for laughs.

Bachelorette – Ch.11 – 9:30pm AEST

Offering a darker shade of comedy than Bridesmaids, Bachelorette is about three friends asked to be bridesmaids for a woman they used to ridicule back in high school. Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher are brutal and bitter as the selfish bridesmaids while Rebel Wilson plays the bride-to-be.

Wednesday 1st April 2015

The Last Ship – Go! – 8:30pm AEST

Tune into the new drama out of the U.S. that follows the plight of naval crew, forced to face the reality of a pandemic that has killed off most of the world’s population. The attention to detail of naval life and careful execution of it’s central premise has turned The Last Ship into an excellent show.

Stop Laughing This Is Serious – ABC – 9:02pm AEST

Watch the second instalment of the ABC’s documentary on Australian comedy. This episode concentrates on that quintessential Australian ability to laugh at ourselves.
