Hellen Mirren’s award winning portrayal as Queen Elizabeth II in stage show The Audience will see a brief resurgence as it returns to Australian theaters.
Recorded live at the National Theater The Audience follows the Queens meetings (also known as audiences) with England’s prime minister, a practice that has spanned 60 years.
Mirren received a Tony award for her role, incidentally a reprisal of a role she had already won an Oscar for in The Queen.
Written by Peter Morgan – the man who also penned The Queen, The Audience’s screenings with also feature a Q&A with cast and crew.
The Audience will open in selected cinemas across Australia for a strictly limited time on July 18th. For more information go to the Sharmill Films website.
