Far Cry heads to the Ice Age in Far Cry Primal

Overnight, Ubisoft started a livestream on their website showing nothing more than a cave painting and promising that they had something exciting to share. It’s been hours now and though there’s been no announcement as yet, it seems IGN Turkey inadvertently beat them to the punch.

According to their post which cites sources close the project, the announcement is for a game called Far Cry Primal, set during the Ice Age. Most are expecting a slew of prehistoric animals to battle like mammoths and sabre-toothed tigers.

Most seem to think that this will be something of an “also-ran” Far Cry story not unlike Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon from a few years ago. At the time of this news post’s publication, the live stream is still showing a cave painting.

We’ll update you when we know more.
