With under a month to go before release, Bethesda have unveiled the minimum and recommended specs required for PC users to run Fallout 4. Hit the jump to see if your rig is ready to explore the Bostonian Wasteland.
For those running middle-of-the-road machines, you may find yourself struggling to run the game with its nicer visual settings enabled. Here’s the Minimum spec:
Minimum
Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent
8 GB RAM
30 GB free HDD space
NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent
That’s a machine that a lot of non-enthusiast gamers will be running and it does mean they’ll be getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop if they want to jump into the game on day one. There’s still plenty of time to save up for an upgrade, however. Here’s the Recommended spec so you know which parts to grab.
Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent
8 GB RAM
30 GB free HDD space
NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB/AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB or equivalent
So a pretty substantial rig is required in terms of both processor and graphics card, but essential for those who are going to want to start modding right away. Members of the PC Master Race and other enthusiast PC players won’t have any problems meeting those requirements.
Fallout 4 releases November 10 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
