It sure has been a big month for film teasers. As studios rush to release first-look trailers before all the attention turns to Star Wars, we have been given some pretty exciting looks into films like the new X-Men, a new Independence Day, Tarzan, The BFG, and even Star Trek. Now it’s time to return to the iconic universe that was built by the Harry Potter franchise with the very first trailer for spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
When a case of rare, endangered, and possibly dangerous magical creatures doesn’t do it’s one job and releases “some” of the fantastical beasts onto the streets of 1926 New York, magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) must save the city and/or world. That’s about as much of the plot that we know of so far, along with some other details which emerged last month.
“Yesterday a wizard entered New York with a case…a case full of magical creatures…and unfortunately some have escaped”, a worried voice announces in the first trailer for the film, to which we get our first look at Newt and the mission ahead of him.
The film is written by J.K Rowling and will be Directed by David Yates, who also brought us the final four entries in the Harry Potter film series. Fantastic Beasts also stars Katherine Waterston’s as Porpentina, Samantha Morton as anti-magic champion Mary Lou, and her son Credence, played by Ezra Miller.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will open in cinemas in November 2016
