The FCCA (Film Critics Circle of Australia), the national professional body of film, reviewers, critics and writers have announce the nominations for the Australian Film Awards of 2015.
Taking place on Tuesday 23rd February from 6pm, the annual ceremony will take place at the Paddington Woollahra RSL, Oxford Street, Paddington.
The Awards Event will kick off with a special attraction, In Conversation with Academy Award Winner Adam Elliot, the FCCA’s patron.
The FCCA’s current President Russell Edwards commented, “The spread of nominees from heralded blockbusters to small-scale independents highlights the diversity of Australian cinema. As the country’s most important critical body looking at movies, we at the Film Critics Circle of Australia are pleased to be able to not only salute the box office, but also celebrate the innovative spirit. I would also like to congratulate the nominees in the documentary category as the Film Critics Circle of Australia continues its support of this vitally important area of Australian film.”
The Dressmaker has earned itself ten nominations while Last Cab to Darwin and Mad Max: Fury Road each have eight nominations. Neil Armfield’s Holding the Man has seven nominations while Paper Planes and Cut Snake each have five Tanna received four nominations.
