The 58th Annual TV Week Logie Awards were awarded last night in Melbourne, and with it came a slew of wins for the ABC – eight in total, the most for any network. The Secret River, Glitch, Gruen, Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell, The Killing Season and Ready for This were all recognised as part of their haul.
The Project was the big winner, however, with co-host Waleed Aly taking home the biggest prize of the night – the Gold Logie – as well as Best Presenter. The series itself took out Best News Panel or Current Affairs Program.
Among the highlights of the night were Waleed Aly‘s phenomenal Gold Logie acceptance, Noni Hazelhurst‘s inspirational speech when she was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame and Julia Morris‘ seemingly impromptu performance of “I Need A Hero”.
