E3 2016: Leaked ad confirms Watch Dogs 2 launching in November

E3 2016 is an extremely leaky boat this year. After a teaser went live yesterday indicating a sequel to Ubisoft’s 2014 shooter Watch Dogs, an ad was mistakenly run early over at IGN that confirmed not only the game’s title but also its release date.

The mistakenly posted advertisement (pictured) confirms that the game is indeed Watch Dogs 2 and will launch on November 15.

It’s a bit of a blow for Ubisoft, who had planned to unveil the news during a substantial reveal event tonight (that’s at 2am AEST/12AM AWST). The advertisement also confirms San Francisco as the game’s location, as reported by Kotaku earlier in the year.

Ubisoft will no doubt be talking about Watch Dogs 2 along with other games from their forthcoming release slate like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wild LandsFor Honor and South Park: The Fractured But Whole at their E3 press conference on Tuesday night. On a personal note, this reporter lives in hope that this sequel will focus more on the hacking and less on the one-man-army stuff that original got bogged down in. We’ll know for sure tomorrow.
