Marvel Comics writer Brian Michael Bendis has let slip that his creation Scarlet, is coming to television, on HBO subsidiary Cinemax.
Bendis, whose other characters and properties Jessica Jones and Powers have also received the TV treatment, stated that the series is still very early in development.
Scarlet follows a young woman who sparks a second American revolution and has drawn attention due to its intense violence and political commentary.
“Scarlet is on a list of things you can’t get made”, said Bendis. “Here’s a female lead who’s killing cops because her world is broken. When it was sold it was sold to people who were actively looking for that, so that put us in a good place. So stay tuned.”
