Microsoft have announced that The Banner Saga 2, Stoic’s sequel to their 2014 RPG, will make its debut on Xbox One as part of their Games with Gold program.
This means that The Banner Saga 2 will arrive much sooner than expected. Stoic have said previously that the game, which launched back in April in PC and Mac, would release on Xbox One and PS4 July 26. In the wake of Microsoft’s announcement, publisher Versus Evil have announced that the PS4 version will now release on July 5.
The Banner Saga 2, which would normally run you US$19.99, will be free all month to anyone with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Also included for Xbox One owners is puzzler Tumblestone (also usually US$19.99) and it will be going free from July 16 to August 15.
Xbox 360 owners won’t be left out in the cold with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 going free from July 1-15 and Tron: Evolution going free from July 16-31. Xbox One owners can also download and play these games free with Xbox One Backwards Compatibility.
