Australian Box Office Report: Secret Life of Pets is Top Dog again this week

For the second week in a row, The Secret Life of Pets, voiced by Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart, has taken the top spot at the box ladder, bringing in $4.80 million this week.  With a total box office earnings of $7.38 million since its premiere, it’s the best fortnight result since the first two weekends of Suicide Squad.  .

Suicide Squad , meanwhile, has moved out of the top five spot for the first time in 6 weeks (now no. 7 at the box ladder).

Coming in at second place is Tom Hanks’ new film, Sully, earning $2.63 million.  Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film’s star power makes this a strong debut.

Returning to our screens after a 12 year absence is Renee Zellweger as Bridget Jones.  This time, Bridget Jones’ Baby also stars Patrick Dempsey and welcomes back Colin Firth.  Earning $1.22 million in its premiere week at the box office, and coming in third overall, this may stick around in the top five for a few more weeks to come.
