For the second week in a row, The Secret Life of Pets, voiced by Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart, has taken the top spot at the box ladder, bringing in $4.80 million this week. With a total box office earnings of $7.38 million since its premiere, it’s the best fortnight result since the first two weekends of Suicide Squad. .
Suicide Squad , meanwhile, has moved out of the top five spot for the first time in 6 weeks (now no. 7 at the box ladder).
Coming in at second place is Tom Hanks’ new film, Sully, earning $2.63 million. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film’s star power makes this a strong debut.
Returning to our screens after a 12 year absence is Renee Zellweger as Bridget Jones. This time, Bridget Jones’ Baby also stars Patrick Dempsey and welcomes back Colin Firth. Earning $1.22 million in its premiere week at the box office, and coming in third overall, this may stick around in the top five for a few more weeks to come.

Strong performances from relatively new films has seen Don’t Breathe drop from 2nd place last week to 4th place this week, earning $954k at the box office.
Sausage Party has also dropped, from 7th place last week to 10th this week, just hanging in there with box office takings of $344k.
Bad Moms, once no. 1 at the box office, is also still hanging on, claiming the 5th spot with $816k. This looks like it will also stick around for a while.
It will be interesting to see how Blair Witch (which continues on from the 1999 surprise hit The Blair Witch Project) does at the box office next week, sharing the limelight with fellow creeper Don’t Breathe and early 2000’s franchise Bridget Jones’ Baby.
