Australian audiences might recognise Timothy Omundson from the 7Flix musical comedy series Galavant, or perhaps Supernatural or maybe even from his 8 seasons on comedy crime procedural Psych. As an actor Omundson brings charm, gravitas, or wit aplenty and as an interview subject he is wonderfully animated, eloquent and softly spoken. Just before he graced Oz Comic Con Sydney, we sat down for an amusing chat.
In Part 1 of our interview with Timothy we discuss Galavant, how the show defied the odds by gaining a cult following and how his majestic #KingsBeard played a small part in helping him secure his role on the series.
In Part 2 of our interview with Timothy we talk about the rumours around Galavant becoming a musical theatre production, Alan Menken’s involvement as a composer and songwriter as well as Michael Kosarin the musical director on Galavant and how they adjusted the songs to work with Omundson’s range. As well as the terrifying nature of doing musical theatre even for the screen, and his desire to return to musical theatre.
In Part 3 of our interview with Timothy we discuss his role as Cain in Supernatural, how knowing the show’s producer Robbie Thompson enabled him to be selective about what elements of the character ended up on screen. As well as being a part of the pop culture convention machine, and lastly a quick dabble in what projects he has coming up.
