Following the very recent, very exciting announcement that Rockstar will finally be bringing us Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2017, the unstoppable publisher has unveiled the official first trailer, and yes, it will induce tears of joy.
Rockstar’s universally praised open-world Western has begged a proper follow-up ever since the 2010 original floored the gaming world, so this trailer comes as something very special – and nostalgic – for those who fell in love with the vast wild wild west which was so beautifully set out by the Take-Two subsidiary.
As seen in the trailer, that landscape looks to be incredibly detailed and immersive, and while we aren’t privy to any concrete details on characters or plot, the fact that we see seven cowboys riding off into the horizon at the end of the trailer suggests that perhaps, maybe, we could get a Magnificent Seven type of scenario, at least for a mission or two. That or this writer is reading too much into it.
A poster indicates that PC gamers may have to wait a bit longer for details on whether or not Red Dead 2 will be available for them, but we do know that XBox One and PS4 will be getting this gorgeous looking game come U.S Fall 2017. It is not known — but doubtful — if Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on the new Nintendo Switch.
