Nintendo have finally announced Australian pricing on their upcoming Switch console, and we’ve got the full list to help you adjust your gaming budget for March 3.

So if you’re looking at grabbing the console, a spare set of controllers and a copy of Zelda then you’re going to be staring down the barrel of AU$679.89, provided nobody gets a bundle deal off the ground before then.
It’s worth noting that EB Games are offering the system for AU$299 if you trade in a Wii U Premium Console and a game, so if you don’t think you’ll have a use for your old Wii U and want to save a few bucks, that might be an idea.
While we’re surprised that the console itself is up around the AU$470 mark, we are less so after having played it at Nintendo’s hands-on event in Melbourne yesterday. It doesn’t feel cheap. It feels like Nintendo really spent some money behind the scenes on this thing, thus the price actually makes a certain amount of sense to us (despite our early predictions).
We’re surprised to see Nintendo charging AU$120 for a pair of Joy-Cons by themselves, and AU$70 for a single. This means you’re only really saving $10 by getting them as a pair. C’mon, Nintendo. This hobby’s already expensive enough as it is. Help your fam out.
It’s interesting to see the Dock running for AU$130, but it does give an indication as to where Nintendo were putting their resources for the Switch. The handheld screen and Joy-Cons are the clear focus, well beyond playing on the TV. But, should you require a spare or want a second Switch setup in a different room, you’ll be ready to rock and roll.
As for games, currently EB Games only has three launch titles with confirmed pricing: Zelda (in both standard and unbelievably sweet Limited Edition), 1-2-Switch! and Just Dance 2017.
