Electric vehicle manufacturer and darling of armchair technocrats everywhere Tesla are planning on opening a combined service centre and showroom in the Queensland capital of Brisbane. The move marks the company’s first foray into the Queensland market.
The planned store and service centre come after what Tesla calls 12 months of Brisbane-based test driving and the completion of their Supercharger Network along the east coast. With all three major east coast cities now a part of the Supercharger Network, Tesla sees this as the perfect time to expand to Brisbane.
Currently, the store is planned to move into 1062 Ann St, Fortitude Valley. The showroom will be large enough to show off the company’s three main electric vehicles, a Design Studio, Powerwall display and a lounge area. The service centre and delivery area will operate in the same building. Customers will be able to test drive Tesla vehicles, as well as find out about, and purchase, Tesla Powerwall and Tesla Powerpack units while they’re there.
This Queensland-based writer is very excited by this news indeed. It’s been a long wait, but worth it.
