Destiny 2 is the official title of the sequel to Bungie’s monster hit MMO shooter Destiny. The developer took to the game’s official Twitter account to put an end to rumours that began to swirl last week.

The game’s announce art features a revised version of the original Destiny logo with a gigantic Helvetica number “2” behind it. This is a match for the poster art leaked by an Italian retailer last week that started announcement rumours swirling. The leaked poster was emblazoned with a September 8, 2017 release date plus information regarding a beta that would begin as a PS4 exclusive. Neither Bungie nor publisher Activision has confirmed these particular details at the time of publication.
The original Destiny arrived on PS4 and Xbox One three years ago on September 9, 2014. While we werent as wild about the base game as it was at launch, it was quickly augmented with multiple expansions, including The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King and last year’s Rise of Iron.
The original game’s final free content update, Age of Triumph, drops tomorrow.
