You, Me and the Apocalypse was an underrated 10 episode mini-series that debuted on Sky 1 in the UK back in 2015, before making its way to the US the following year. Now, the show seems to be doing the rounds around the world – and having caught the series on some flights recently, I got to ask Nick about his brief role in the series.
Nick: It was fun, it was really surreal. We shot all of Megan (Mullally)’s storylines set in rural America in South Africa, which is really trippy. It was a London series, so it was shot around London, and around Malta and then a bunch of it around Capetown. So it was really crazy to go there and visit South Africa for the first time, and go out in the middle of nowhere and wear a dress and be in Oklahoma, but it was really fun. I love getting to work with my wife.
Larry: It seems to be something you get to do more often than most. I know you didn’t quite get to tour Australia together last year.
Nick: No, but we took a rain check. That will come to pass!
So good news for fans of Nick and Megan – we should get to see them down under again one day. However, the show they were supposed to tour here, Summer of 69: No Apostrophe, is airing this week on TV in America*. So you will have the opportunity to see it one way or another soon enough.
You can read more of my interview with Nick, HERE, as we talk (along with the rest of the cast) about the mysterious Infinity Baby, which premiered at SXSW earlier this year.
*If you’re in the USA, catch it on Epix on Friday, May 19th at 10pm
