E3 2017: Detroit: Become Human is going to make you answer some hard questions

In an era where people are divided on all sides of the political aisle, demand has been rising for a game that takes these issues seriously and opens up a dialogue. That game may well be Detroit: Become Human, the new title from Quantic Dream.

Quantic Dream are known for their cinematic, quicktime event heavy approach to game design — their previous titles Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls are great examples of this.

Their latest, Detroit: Become Human looks be asking tough questions about racial inequality, presenting a growing rift and eventual clash between human beings and the androids they have created. The player must think their actions through before making any decision and must live with the consequences of those actions, no matter what they may be.

The trailer highlights performances by Jesse Williams (Grey’s AnatomyThe Cabin in the Woods and Diana Agron (Glee, The Crash). Williams himself is no stranger to political activism, having produced  the film Stay Woke: The Black Lives Matter Movement last year.

No release date has been set for Detroit just yet, but it will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 4.
