The Jewish International Film Festival (25th October – 22nd November) will host four screenings of Jungle, the incredible real life survival story of Australian based Israeli entrepreneur Yossi Ghinsberg, by Wolf Creek director Greg McLean.
Tickets are on sale now for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra audiences, with a special Q&A with Yossi Ghinsberg following the Sydney screening.
The event will officially launch the Jewish International Film Festival program, providing cinephiles a first-look at the premiere films to screen in October and November with tickets going on sale Monday 25 September.
“The Festival is proud to celebrate the launch of its full program with these special one-off screenings of such an outstanding Australian film, with state premieres in NSW, ACT and WA” said Jewish International Film Festival Artistic Director, Eddie Tamir.
“Jungle is a thrilling piece of cinema that perfectly showcases McLean’s signature blood-pumping style, and gives an excellent taste of the diverse films we have in store for 2017.”
“The Festival will once again screen a truly global cross-section of more than 60 films from 24 countries, to celebrate the diversity of Jewish culture and storytelling,” he said.
Starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), the gripping true story follows Ghinsberg as he leaves behind a simple life to chase an impossible dream in the depths of the Amazon rainforest. What begins as an exciting adventure soon turns into a harrowing psychological test of faith.
The film has an impressive cast of Australian actors featuring Alex Russell (Chronicle), Joel Jackson (Gallipoli), Lily Sullivan (Mental), and Yasmin Kassim (Neighbours).
