Nine Network’s new crime thriller Bite club reveals an all-star cast

An all-star cast for Playmaker’s new crime thriller production Bite Club was recently announced at Nine Network’s up-fronts event. Currently in production in Sydney, Bite Club has attracted the attention of both Screen Australia, with a major investment in association with Create NSW.

Bite Club revolves around two detectives who after surviving a shark attack, join forces to solve a dangerous mystery… and take down the serial killer who is after them.

The all-star cast includes Todd Lasance (Spartacus: War of the Damned, The Vampire Diaries), Ash Ricardo (Offspring), Damian Walshe-Howling (Underbelly, Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms), Deborah Mailman (Offspring), Robert Mammone (Underbelly, Fat Tony & Co), Pia Miller (Home and Away), Marny Kennedy (Wentworth), Darcie Irwin-Simpson (Love Child) and Dominic Monaghan (Lost, The Lord of The Rings, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wild Things).

Bite Club is being produced by Sue Seeary and executive produced by Andy Ryan, Jo Rooney, David Maher, David Taylor and Sarah Smith. It is also being written by Sarah Smith and John Ridley, with directing duties assumed by Jennifer Leacey, Geoff Bennett, Wayne Blair and Peter Andrikidis.

Executive producers David Taylor and David Maher from Playmaker commented: “With such a talented cast, and one of the best creative and production teams around, we’re hugely excited to be producing Bite Club. We love working with Nine, and from the outset everyone involved has embraced the idea of breaking new ground with Australian crime drama.”

Bite Club will premiere on the Nine Network sometime in 2018.
