Major gaming convention HRX is kicking off tomorrow in Atlanta, Georgia, a celebration of Hi-Rez Studios’ popular multiplayer titles Smite and Paladins. The show will be of significant interest to Australian esports fans with two local teams, Kanga Esports and Scylla Esports, looking to make waves in the Smite and Paladins World Championships respectively.
Kanga Esports currently occupies the #3 spot globally in Paladins, Hi-Rez’s take on the team shooter genre made resurgent with games like Overwatch and Fortnite. The Kangas will be starting their World Championship run in Match 4 of the tournament bracket, up against the feisty Ninjas in Pajamas (and one hopes they dress for the occasion). You can catch all the action live on the official Paladins Twitch channel right here from 9:30am, Friday January 5 AEDT.
For Scylla Esports, this will be their first trip to the Smite World Championships and are therefore looking to put on a show. Smite, of course, is Hi-Rez’s entry into the highly competitive world of MOBAs and hero brawlers dominated by League of Legends and DOTA2. Scylla’s first match up will see them battle it out with Nocturns Gaming, starting 6am, Friday January 5 AEDT. You can watch live on the official Smite Twitch channel and show them some support, win or lose, on a huge team milestone.
All the very best to both the Kangas and Scyllas. Go get ’em, lads.
