Bandai Namco have announced that Dark Souls: Remastered is on its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. In a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini broadcast overnight, the House of N also confirmed the game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
The remaster of From Software’s groundbreaking action RPG will drop across all four platforms on May 25 and will include the Artorius of the Abyss DLC along with a higher resolution overhaul and numerous other visual improvements for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X users.
The game will run at 1080p, 60fps on PS4 and Xbox One. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X users can expect it to run at 4K Upscaled, 60fps. On the Nintendo Switch, it will run docked at 1080p, 30fps and in handheld mode at 720p, 30fps.
Dark Souls originally launched in 2011 to widespread critical acclaim. It won over a legion of with its deliberately clunky design, combat and controls, single handedly reigniting an industry-wide interest in games that presented a stiff challenge.
