Mario Kart Tour might be about to bring blue shell rage to your mobile device

Nintendo’s next major push into the mobile market looks to be its biggest yet. Mario Kart Tour puts the series back in your pocket and on your iOS or Android smart device.

“A new mobile application is now in development,” reads the post on Nintendo’s social media accounts, along with a March 2019 release window to ensure you don’t get too hype too soon.

It’s also interesting that Nintendo have used the word “application” and not “game.” It’s unusually precise wording, and it may point to Mario Kart Tour being more of a plugin app for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch than a game in its own right. Obviously we’re all hoping for an actual game, but for now we’ll have to wait and see on that.

The announcement also comes hot on the heels of the Big N confirming its Nintendo Switch Online service will debut in September 2018.
