Multiple outlets confirm an active shooting at YouTube HQ

Multiple news outlets are reporting that YouTube’s San Bruno, California headquarters is currently under lockdown with local police indicating an shooter is active within the building.

Police responded to multiple 911 calls from YouTube’s headquarters at 901 Cherry Avenue early this afternoon local time, later confirming via Twitter that it was responding to a shooting.

Multiple YouTube employees also took to Twitter to raise the alarm, indicating that the building was being locked down as police investigated.

Snapchat and Instagram stories from employees and people in the area show SWAT teams arriving outside the building and mass evacuations being conducted.

YouTube’s parent company Google also tweeted in response to incident, confirming that it is working with San Bruno authorities and will update with more information as it comes to hand.
