Netflix favourite Stranger Things is set to get a little stranger with some new additions to the cast for its third season. Adding to the adult cast contingent will be Cary Elwes and Jake Busey who have been given some intriguing characters to play.
Cary Elwes will be playing the character of Mayor Kline and has been described as “handsome, slick, and sleazy … like a classic 80’s politician”. So less Westley from The Princess Bride and more Jonas Miller from Twister. Whilst Jake Busey (son of Gary) will be portraying a Hawkins Post journalist named Bruce with “questionable morals and a sick sense of humour”. So it looks like the addition of these two cast members means some dark and twisted times are ahead for Hawkins, Indiana.
In case you’ve been living under a rock and completely missed the first two stellar seasons, the show follows a group of young kids battling supernatural goings-on in the fictional town of Hawkins. Aided by the ever surly and steadfast Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) and their superpowered telekinetic friend Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) set during the 80’s and loaded with nostalgia nods to that era.
A release date for Season 3 is yet to be announced but we’ll surely hear rumblings of it once it’s confirmed.
