The largest publicly voted music awards in the country, The Age Music Victoria Awards, have announced the nominees for 2015, highlighting the best of contemporary, Victoria-based Australian music in the past 12 months and celebrating the enormous success of our very fine, very strong industry. As always, the awards will also shed light on the best venue and festival in Victoria over the past year.
Unsurprisingly world-dominating indie goddess Courtney Barnett has a whole pile of nods this year, picking up nominations for Best Album, Best Song, Best Band, and Best Female Artist alongside another very strong contender in Jess Ribeiro.
Melbourne four-piece Totally Mild are also set to put up a very strong front three nominations, tying with hard-working trio The Peep Tempel. It’s all going to be so very, very hard to choose.
Public voting is open until November 6th and is located at www.theage.com.au/agemusicvictoriaawards
