It’s officially Ausmusic Month again and this morning, Triple J have announced the nominees up for various J Awards this year. Of course, some incredibly talented musicians have been recognised for Australian Album of the Year, Unearthed Artist of the Year, Double J Artist of the Year and Australian Music Video of the Year awards – from Sydney’s Gang of Youths, to Melbourne’s Courtney Barnett and Alpine, there’s no denying the contenders this year have been producing some great music. Announced via live broadcast at 4:30pm on November 19th, the J Awards will stand to be an interesting insight into who might be taking out some of the hotly contended ARIA Awards, many of which some of these J Award nominees are also up for.
