Sitting well in that alt-soul, contemporary pop realm that has been littered with talented voices but ultimately forgettable faces this year, there’s an honesty about Teischa that has made us sit up that little bit straighter and listen that little bit harder.
Her single “Couldn’t Care Less” has been making some waves recently and it’s not hard to see why. Accompanied by just a piano in the below video, recorded in Melbourne recently, Teischa’s deeper notes resemble early Adele and Florence, while her general range is akin to that soulful essence the likes of Meg Mac have brought to the fore this year. And again, this girl is still so young! This live version of the song is also serving as the single’s official music video and is a great introduction to an artist we’re no doubt going to be hearing more from in the New Year.
