Aussie acts continue to climb row by row on American festival lineup posters, with a great example being the massive new program for this year’s Governors Ball, which takes place in June on Randall’s Island Park in New York City. Headlined by the likes of Chicago rapper-producer Kanye West, indie rock gods The Strokes and The Killers, and musical mastermind Beck, the festival puts forth an enviable list of contemporary musicians from around the world, and three of Australia’s brightest, world-dominating names are in there.
Joining the dizzying list of big names will be electro-R&B crooner Chet Faker, breakthrough guitarist Courtney Barnett, and the soulful Meg Mac. The latter two recently performed standout sets at Fall Festival, and Chet Faker has long been a sought after name in music scenes around the globe. New-York based Aussie Betty Who will also perform.
Also on the line-up: legends Eagles of Death Metal, the super talented Miguel, Big Boi and Phantogram as Big Grams, hip hop veterans De La Soul, electro-pop queen Robyn, producer M83, and the divine Bat for Lashes.
