So, we all know that when the Falls Festival party heads out West next January, they’ve got some pretty cool plans set up for Freo music fans. Today, they unveiled some more info about the spaces they’re set to take over for the inaugural Falls Downtown event, as well as adding some more artists to the mix.
First thing’s first: let’s find out some more about the spaces the festival is set to make their own come January 7th & 8th.
We’ve got The Danceteria, aka the basement gallery of the old Myer building. Set to host some incredible local DJ’s and electronic music crews and collectives, festival goers can be expecting the audio and visual goods brought hard by Pilerats, The Community, Fungle Club, Polyrhythmic, Boogie Nightmedia, CAMP DOOGS and more.
Heading out to the Fremantle Town Hall, the Old Time Music Hall will turn the space into a platform for swing, country, jazz, soul and blues artists to do their thing. Featuring its own craft beer bar, furniture and more, check out Blind Tiger and his homemade Boogie Box host Manhattons Hot Swing, Jimmy Mac, Luke Dux & Atomic Lunchbox, Stoney Joe, Cottontail Trio & The Supper Club and more throughout the event.
Turning attention to St John’s Anglican Church, comedy will fill the venue with some of the best locally and nationally regarded comics throughout each day. Joel Creasey, MC Andy Saunders, The Stevenson Experience, Aunty Donna, MC Ivan Aristiguieta, The Big Hoo-Haa, The Tor-Night Show and Bullsh*!# Trivia will also be taking part on this special part of the Falls Downtown line up, brought to you by WA’s finest, GELO.
And now, looking back to Fremantle’s Town Square, where the likes of Childish Gambino, London Grammar and The Avalanches will play alongside artists including Violent Soho, Grandmaster Flash, Jamie T and Grouplove, Falls Downtown as also added Kari Faux, Mt Mountain and Elli Schoen (pictured) to the mix!
