Master turntablist and mashup pioneer DJ Z-Trip will be coming down to Australia for a quick tour in the first month of 2017, returning to a country full of fans that have always embraced his multi-style live DJ performances through the years. While most of the Australian shows will take place in January, Z-Trip will first be making his way down under later on in December before leaving for Bali and then coming back in the new year, promising fans another showing of why he has become known as the “Rick Rubin of the DJ world” with far-reaching mashup heavy sets that sprout from the roots of hip hop into a huge variety of sounds and styles.
Whether you know him for his live shows across the biggest festivals in world (including Coachella, SXSW, Lollapooloza, and Big Day Out), collaborations with the likes of Public Enemy and DJ Shadow, or even as a producer and playable character for Activision’s DJ Hero series, it’d be hard to argue against his constant appearance on top 10 lists year after year.
Later this month will see the legendary DJ take to Brisbane and Perth, the latter for WA’s epic Breafkast festival. To take us into 2017, Z-Trip will be first touch down at the incredible MonaFoma in Tasmania on January 21st. Other shows include, Melbourne where he’ll perform at Laundry Bar on Thursday 26th January, and Sydney where he’ll shoot up for a show at the inner-west’s Factory Theatre on Saturday 28th January.
