YouTube has announced their massive plans for the South by Southwest Conference, expanding to their largest SXSW present to date. What’s set to be one of the absolute highlights of their SXSW events will be their return to downtown Austin’s Coppertank, where YouTube will host a major three-day showcase. The showcase is set to feature some of the biggest names in music, including an exclusive SXSW appearance from Solange (!), as well as Australian three-piece Middle Kids.
YouTube’s SXSW plans will also feature live recordings of “Sway in the Morning”, a VR demo space, (to demo VR music videos), a YouTube artist hub, and more!
Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music, says “We’re going to have the loudest mics, best lights, best drinks and the best fans in all of Austin, which means we’re going to give artists the best time they’ll have all week.”
The event will be open to SXSW Platinum badge, SXSW Music badge and SXSW Artist wristband holders.
