Curated by local musicians, Sydney is getting a new singer/songwriter night, In The Round at Leadbelly

Kicking off next Wednesday, and continuing on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, Sydney venue Leadbelly Newtown is launching a new Singer/Songwriter night called In The Round at Leadbelly. Inspired by the sessions at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, the night – which is curated by a different musician each month – features four musicians who hit the stage at the same time to tell stories and perform music: their own, each other’s, special covers and once-in-a-lifetime collaborations.

The first event, taking place on Wednesday, July 12th, is bring curated by Taryn La Fauci, who just released her debut, beautiful album Cycling (which you can listen to HERE) and is the host of the popular AU Podcast Top of the World. Joining her on the night will be James Morrison of The Morrisons, Lady Lyon and Leroy Lee.

The second event, taking place on Wednesday, August 9th, is curated by Maples. Joining her on the night are Timothy James Bowen, Rosie Catalino and Andy Golledge.

Doors to the night are from 6pm, with live music from 8pm. Tickets are just $5+bf online, or $10 on the door, with a minimum of 80% of ticket sales going directly to the performing artists. You can get tickets to the event next week on OzTix HERE, and keep up to date on the event over on Facebook.
