Melbourne trio Silver Linings have produced a grab of music that hooks the listener in with it’s groove and heart, in “It’s Not Me”. A funk-infused number that is carried strongly by Françoise d’Argent‘s strong and soulful vocal, the single itself has been described as a tribute to life’s ‘sliding door moments’. In the official music video for “It’s Not Me”, we see the vocalist playing on the themes of the tune, slickly captured in the final result that can be viewed below.
Filmed at South Melbourne’s Temperance Hall, Benny Badge directs the music video as we follow Françoise putting pen to paper, before coming together with the band. As they explain:
“Her initial shock soon leads to clarity as she puts pen to paper, her driver patiently waiting to deliver the demo to the rest of the band. Intensely moody and rich with contrast, the video follows Fran’s journey from grief to relief in trademark Silver Linings elegance.”
