The BET HipHop Awards have the internet in a tizz, with the awards taking place in the US right now. Eyes have turned to see how many Kendrick stands to clean up and whether Cardi B will reign supreme as 2017’s breakthrough star but safe to say, it was Eminem who came through at took the spotlight for one of the most important parts of the ceremony.
Freestyling a brutal verse that took aim at Donald Trump’s presidency, specifically pulling the NFL, issues of corruption, immigration and more into focus. Not holding back – when does he ever – Eminem delivered an impassioned four and a half minute tirade that made his stance clear; put yourself on the right side of the fence.
“Any fan of mine who is a supporter of his,” he asserts. “I’m drawing in the sand the line you’re either for or against. And if you can’t decide who you like more and you split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for you with this,” before flipping the bird at the camera and mouthing fuck you.
“The rest of America stand up, we love our military and we love our country, but we fucking hate Trump.”
