It’s hot. It’s sunny. It’s rowdy. It’s Queensland! We’ve rounded up five of the best artists killing it in the sunshine state that you need to listen to.
SHORELINES
Brisbane band Shorelines are bringing making pop-punk great again! Featuring two main vocalists, the group have been cutting their teeth in the Brisbane music scene with their unique spin on the genre. These guys are raking up the views on YouTube, so check them out before they get huge (for bragging rights of course).

SOMETIMES SONNY
90s nostalgia, slow building pop and emotional lyrics. That’s what you’ll find from Sometimes Sonny, the new project from Brisbane multi instrumentalist (and music teacher) Dave Campbell. Their EP was released earlier this year to immense praise, so give them a listen before your friends beat you to it.

MAY LYN
Brisbane based, Malaysia born May Lyn has been blowing up this year. The singer-song writer and producer’s simplistic, ambient RnB tracks are ushering in the future of the genre. Her beautiful voice just tops off all the reasons why you should be listening.

THE CULTURES
Split between the Gold Coast and Singapore, these international rockers are getting loads of love overseas. The band started when the quartet were all working the same 9-5 job in Singapore, and despite a chunk of the band coming home to Australia, these guys are only beginning. With influences from Australia and Asia, these guys are an interesting listen.
