The Adelaide 500 (still known as ‘Clipsal’ to locals) is around the corner, with the likes of Robbie Williams, Cold Chisel and Birds of Tokyo set to perform during the event’s live concert series. Packed down the city’s East End, the series has also been offering local bands the opportunity to cut their teeth on the massive stage at Victoria Park, as part of the annual Bands on Track competition.
We’ve seen the likes of Bad//Dreems and Nakatomi come through the ranks over the last few years, and this year is no different, with a panel of judges listening to submissions from a range of Adelaide artists and in effect, selecting each support act for the three nights out at the Adelaide 500.
The “Made in SA” showcase (March 2nd) will see Hana & Jessie-Lee, as well as Donnarumma, join Bad//Dreems, Kasey Chambers and Cold Chisel on stage, with Kitchen Witch and Young Offenders will be hitting the Adelaide 500 stage on March 3rd supporting Birds of Tokyo and +LIVE+.

Backing Robbie Williams and Sheppard on the final concert night of the Adelaide 500 (March 4th), will be Neon Tetra and Ollie English, who are sure to have the crowds out early. As Music SA’s General Manager Lisa Bishop has said of the Bands on Track competition, over 100 Adelaide artists got involved this year.
“[The] Bands On Track initiative has been a special long standing partnership with Adelaide 500. It showcases the incredible talent produced by a growing and vibrant music industry in SA. This is a rare career defining opportunity for local artists to perform on a large stage, to a highly receptive crowd and with an outstanding level of technical sound and lighting support”.
