For folk artist Clint Wilson, “Nothin’ To Lose” is more than just a new single ready to promote. It’s a statement of the songwriter he’s been developing into over the last few years and a piece of music that is the culmination of reflection, reinvigoration and an approach to Americana that has been highlighting the talent of Australian songwriters mixing in the genre at present.

Melancholic, evocative and charming, “Nothin’ To Lose” is a great introduction to this artist on the come up and to find out more, we find out where some of Wilson’s influences have come from!
Paul Kelly
Probably my favourite Australian songwriter. I love his ability to tell stories through song. One of my biggest influences for sure. His track “They Thought I Was Asleep” gave me goosebumps when I first heard heard it. It really paints a clear picture in your head what is happening in the song.
Grinspoon
Guide To Better Living was a huge album to me growing up. Every track on the album is great, no need for the skip button here. “Just Ace” was a huge track growing up. I can remember seeing the film clip and thinking, ‘I want to be a rock star when I’m older.’
Powderfinger
I’ve always loved the way Powderfinger have composed their songs and the use of different instruments. Such a great full sound. Internationalist is a favourite album of mine.

Jebediah
When I was 15 I started a band called “Stoked” with some friends. We covered most of the songs from their Slightly Odway album. Whenever I hear “Leaving Home”, I remember those days.
Courtney Barnett
I started being serious about my songwriting after listing to Courtney’s Double EP. I really like the way she describes things in her songs and the simple melodies. “Avant Gardener” is great example of Aussie storytelling.
